- Dr. King completed her PhD at University of Texas Medical Branch in 2020 with a dissertation focused on "Nigerian immigrant nursing students' experiences in U.S. baccalaureate nursing programs".
- Dr. King's teaching is centered on a conceptualized teaching philosophy related to sharing evidence-based nursing knowledge and experiences with students. Dr. King has experience in vocational nursing education, associate degree nursing education, baccalaureate nursing education (traditional and RN-BSN), along with clinical management, medical-surgical nursing, pediatric nursing and maternal nursing.
- Dr. King has taught a variety of courses including pharmacology, dosage calculations, med-surg, pediatrics, maternity, history and theory, legal and ethics, role transitions and leadership and management. Dr. King is ANCC board certified Medical Surgical nurse. Dr. King also has taught NCLEX review courses and has training in test item writing development.
